Your room will be available from 2 pm on the day of arrival. Our reception is open until 10 pm. For arrivals after 10.00 pm, please let us know by telephone.

On the day of departure we ask you to vacate your room by 11.00 am. 

Our house is located right next to the train station in Bad Staffelstein. On request and subject to availability, we will be happy to reserve a quiet room for you (facing the side street), just let us know your wishes when booking! 

We are a non-smoking hotel. Smoking in the rooms and public areas is not permitted.

Our hotel is only a few steps (approx. 5 minutes' walk) from the Obermain Therme, with the hottest and strongest Thermal Salt Water in Bavaria, and the spa park. The town center of Bad Staffelstein can be reached via a romantic footpath through the Hain Park in about 5 minutes on foot. Due to the immediate proximity to Bad Staffelstein train station (100m away), it is easy to get to our hotel by train. Many popular excursion destinations such as Bamberg, Coburg, Kronach, Kulmbach and Bayreuth are easily accessible by train.

All our rooms, the breakfast room, swimming pool and sauna, as well as the restaurant are accessible by elevator. Therefore our public areas are handicapped friendly. Unfortunately, we do not have rooms suitable for the disabled.

Our restaurant is closed on Sunday & Monday. On these two days only breakfast is possible. On Sundays we offer lunch in our Berggasthof Banzer Wald in Unnersdorf (3 km away), as well as homemade cakes and pies in the afternoon.

Allergy-friendly (quality-tested by TÜV Rheinland):

Our hotel has allergy-friendly hotel rooms. On request and depending on availability, we will be happy to reserve a suitable room for you if you inform us at the time of booking. All our hotel rooms are equipped with allergy-friendly bedding and we will be happy to provide you with allergy-friendly toiletries at reception on request! You are welcome to inform us of any food intolerances.

Disclaimer:
The safeguards that have been implemented significantly reduce contact with allergens. However, it cannot be avoided one hundred percent. Because allergies occur in many different ways and reactions to allergens can vary from person to person, allergic reactions cannot be ruled out in every case. Allergies are always diverse and specific to each individual affected. The seal therefore stands for tested good conditions of allergen reduction, but not for absolute freedom from symptoms.

In the interest of all guests, we can only accept a limited number of dogs. Please let us know when you make your reservation whether you would like to bring your four-legged friend with you (dog 10.00 € per day). Please note that dogs are not allowed in our breakfast room and in the feel-good rooms.

You are welcome to charge your electric car (for an extra charge) at our charging station (directly at the hotel).

The confirmed check-in and check-out day are equally binding for both the hotel and hotel guest. The following cancellation terms and conditions apply to room and package bookings (if there is no other agreement):

• Bookings for 1-2 nights can be cancelled free of charge up to 6 pm on the day of arrival.
• Bookings for 3-6 nights can be cancelled free of charge up to 3 days before the day of arrival.
• Bookings for 7-13 nights can be cancelled free of charge up to 7 days before the day of arrival.
• Bookings for 14 nights or more can be cancelled free of charge up to 14 days before the day of arrival.

We reserve the right to charge 80% of the booking price for late cancellations or early departure. Please make your cancellations in writing (by fax, email or post). Special cancellation terms and conditions apply to trade fair and event dates as well as Easter and New Year’s Eve. We also recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance. 90% of the total amount will be charged in the event of no shows. A deposit is not necessary. You can pay your bill on site at check-in or check-out by EC card, credit card or in cash.

The town of Bad Staffelstein charges a visitor's tax of 2.50 € per day / adult and 1.75 € per day / teenager (14-18 years), which is charged separately at the hotel.

Starting from the 1st of July 2015 / 1st of March 2016, the new legislation in relation to the statutory tax rate will come into effect which will see the 19% VAT charged on sauna and parking services (instead of the 7% charged up to that point). This also applies to the sauna and parking services which we offer in our hotel. For this reason, (as is also the case with breakfast), use of the sauna and parking will listed separately on your hotel bill and charged with 19% VAT; it will also no longer be possible to include this as a share of the overnight stay. This is also the case even if the guest does not use the sauna or parking. On your hotel bill you will now find the position “Included services”, which includes use of the sauna and parking and this is subject to the 19% VAT rate. We kindly ask for your understanding in this matter!
