Your room will be available from 2 pm on the day of arrival. Our reception is open until 6.00 pm. For arrivals after 6.00 pm, please let us know by telephone.

On the day of departure we ask you to vacate your room by 11.00 am. 

We are a non-smoking hotel. Smoking in the rooms and public areas is not permitted.

Our hotel has disabled-friendly hotel rooms. On request and depending on availability, we will be happy to reserve a suitable room for you if you inform us when booking. All our rooms, the breakfast room and the restaurant are accessible by elevator.

Our house is located in the middle of nature with a magnificent view of Banz Monastery.

The Obermain Therme, with the warmest and strongest brine in Bavaria, and the spa park is 5 minutes away by car.
Many popular excursion destinations such as Bamberg, Coburg, Kronach, Kulmbach and Bayreuth are easily accessible by train from Bad Staffelstein.

Unfortunately, we can currently only open the kitchen in our Berggasthof for you on Sundays at lunchtime. In our main hotel  "Hotel-Restaurant Erich Rödiger" in Bad Staffelstein (5 minutes away by car) the restaurant is open for you from Tuesday to Saturday evening. As our house guests, we are happy to reserve a table for you for dinner, choose from our various half-board menus:

• Our large half board (3-course menu)*
  The food in our restaurant is certainly one of the highlights of your vacation day. We serve fine soups or starters, different main courses to choose from and a tasty dessert.

  If our 3-course menu in the evening is too much for you, we offer a small half-board with only 2 courses. Enjoy a starter, a soup or a dessert and choose from 3 different main courses.

*Please note that our restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays. On these two days, only breakfast is possible!

In the interest of all guests, we can only accept a limited number of dogs. Please let us know when you make your reservation whether you would like to bring your four-legged friend with you (dog 10.00 € per day). Please note that dogs are not allowed in our breakfast room and in the feel-good rooms.

You are welcome to charge your electric car (for an extra charge) at our charging station (directly at the hotel).

The confirmed check-in and check-out day are equally binding for both the hotel and hotel guest. The following cancellation terms and conditions apply to room and package bookings (if there is no other agreement):

• Bookings for 1-2 nights can be cancelled free of charge up to 6 pm on the day of arrival.
• Bookings for 3-6 nights can be cancelled free of charge up to 3 days before the day of arrival.
• Bookings for 7-13 nights can be cancelled free of charge up to 7 days before the day of arrival.
• Bookings for 14 nights or more can be cancelled free of charge up to 14 days before the day of arrival.

We reserve the right to charge 80% of the booking price for late cancellations or early departure. Please make your cancellations in writing (by fax, email or post). Special cancellation terms and conditions apply to trade fair and event dates as well as Easter and New Year’s Eve. We also recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance. 90% of the total amount will be charged in the event of no shows. A deposit is not necessary. You can pay your bill on site at check-in or check-out by EC card, credit card or in cash.

The town of Bad Staffelstein charges a visitor's tax of 2.00 € per day / adult and 1.50 € per day / teenager (14-18 years), which is charged separately at the hotel.

Starting from the 1st of July 2015 / 1st of March 2016, the new legislation in relation to the statutory tax rate will come into effect which will see the 19% VAT charged on sauna and parking services (instead of the 7% charged up to that point). This also applies to the sauna and parking services which we offer in our hotel. For this reason, (as is also the case with breakfast), use of the sauna and parking will listed separately on your hotel bill and charged with 19% VAT; it will also no longer be possible to include this as a share of the overnight stay. This is also the case even if the guest does not use the sauna or parking. On your hotel bill you will now find the position “Included services”, which includes use of the sauna and parking and this is subject to the 19% VAT rate. We kindly ask for your understanding in this matter!
